Warno SDL Season 5 begins in just a few short weeks. There will be picks, bans, tanks getting side shot and AA pieces blowing themselves up. I don’t know about you, but I can’t wait! This space, the Warno Dispatch, will try to make sense of it all on a weekly basis. Today, Volume 1, will be a preview of all things Season 5!
But before we begin, what is Warno SDL Season 5? SDL or Simulated Division League is the most prestigious, player-run, competitive tournament organization for Warno. Each tournament, also known as a Season, is broken up into a group and playoff stage. Moreover, there are four different skill levels in Warno SDL; Division 1, Division 2, Division 3, and Division 4. This allows the organizers to pit players against opponents with similar levels of aptitude. Win and you can get promoted to a higher division. Lose and you may be relegated. Usually in this space, I would take you on a journey analyzing some of the data that is coming out of Season 5. Today, we will preview some of the improvements coming to Warno SDL Season 5.
Increased Staff - Protoss has been recruiting! Specific admins have been assigned to each division, the fantasy league, and data collection all with the hopes of making this the smoothest & best season so far.
Picks and Bans Tool - Currently in testing with certain members of the community, a Warno Draft Tool has been developed to speed up and standardize the drafting aspect of matches.
Increased Data Analysis - With the aforementioned Warno Draft Tool, the amount of data compiled from each match has more than doubled. For those of you that like statistics, Season 5 will be the best yet.
Map Pool Update - Are you tired of Vertigo? Does Two Lakes make you want to pull out your hair? Do you find comfort when Urban Frontlines pops up during a ranked game? Regardless of your sentiments, Season 5 is putting the decision power with the players. That is right, by following this link (HERE) you get to pick the maps that will be featured for Season 5. Prize Pool - SDL utilizes Matcherino to fund prizes. With more than 50 competitors already signed up, the battle for prize money will be that much tougher. If you would like to donate the link is HERE.
Improved Casting - With extra resources, Protoss and Chloride, our resident casters, will have an even easier job immersing you into the fictional battles of World War 3. Be on the look out for updated graphics, more in-depth analysis, and maybe even in-game data tracking. We are setting our sights high!
Whether you are a competitor or just a fan, welcome to the Warno SDL Season 5 Fantasy league. Do your research, budget your choices, and select the commanders you think will dominate the battlefield. Often overlooked in past seasons, Warno SDL Season 5 Fantasy will be heavily moderated and very entertaining. Prizes for 1st place (SDL merchandise?!) and last place (forced to play 20 games of Korpus in ranked?!) should make this season the best one yet! As soon as signups for the Season finish, the fantasy league will be created. Keep an eye out for the invitation.
