First blood! Season 5 has gotten off to a great start with our first matchup coming from Division 1 pitting Nocturna against Ben Dover. Protoss and Chloride covered the match on the stream linked (HERE​). Both of our casters did a great job in analyzing the matchup. First off, big props to Ben Dover and Nocturna who had some trouble uploading their draft. At SDL, we know there might be bugs as the season progresses and we really do appreciate the patience and diligence of the competitors. So, let's discuss this draft which featured the bans of 2nd pnz, DivMob, 20th Pancerna, 11th Acav, 4th Zmech and 79 ya. Will 2nd pnz be the most banned division this season because of how good of an “all arounder” it is? Is DivMob still broken? Hello 4th zmech! Are you meta now? I think Protoss has done enough screaming from the rooftops about 20th Panc. The question for Season 5; will 20th Panc get to be played at all this season?​

Fatkid’s Lunch - Division Analysis

Welcome to Fatkid’s Lunch, which you know is always a hefty meal, where we analyze division builds and other Warno idiosyncrasies. The recent patch release notes were covered by numerous content creators. I would like to point out Hippies' video which goes into some of the changes that didn’t make the patch notes. Linked Next, I think something really creative that Griffon65 did with his 4e going up against notmjblair’s 8th US Infantry was using six (6!!!!!!) CMD Leopard 2A4(B)s and no Leopard 1NLs. I can only assume they were very fearful of 8th Infantry's ability to out scale them with M1A1 Abrams and therefore wanted to rely on double vetted (!!) Leopard 2A4(B)s. They started with one on deployment and throughout the course of the game they were able to deploy four of these command tanks, helping turn the tide. Another moment in this match that HAS to make Fatkid’s Lunch was when Griffon65 spotted one of notmjblair’s M1A1 Abrams in a forest. With two M110A2 on the battlefield, but one just recently purchased, Griffon used the hold fire command on their artillery to make sure both fired in sync. The two arty pieces were on different sides of the map but with this high level micro play, Griffon was able to snipe the tank as both arty pieces hit at the same time. Wow! Lastly, are we living in a T-72 world right now? Something all players should be keeping an eye on is how these T-72 divisions hold up against other tank divisions? Are we entering the rangemeta as tank gun ranges vs ATGM ranges seems to be more important than ever. Food (get it Fatkid’s lunch?!) for thought, as of publishing this article 1. Tankova Divize is 0-3.​

Wow is Fantasy off to a great start. We already have more than twelve players who have selected their Commanders for the season. A few participants aren’t even in SDL this season, but are cheering on a cadre of players regardless. There is just about a week to sign up.
